Work Based Learning
Work Based Learning (WBL) is an extension and application of classroom instruction through supervised work experience related to a student’s educational goals. During the WBL course, the student works in a job related to their program of study to gain experience and earn course credit. This enables the student to get “on-the-job” experience while receiving college credit. The WBL Coordinator works with students and employers to develop WBL opportunities that support industry needs and educational connections. In addition, the WBL Coordinator provides ongoing support throughout the learning experience, serving as the primary liaison between community partners, SCC faculty, and students.
