The Information Technology (IT) curriculum prepares graduates for employment in the technology sector as designers, testers, support technicians, system administrators, developers, or programmers who use computer software and\or hardware to design, process, implement and manage information systems. Specialties within the program include cybersecurity, business intelligence, cloud computing, virtualization, and other emerging fields, depending on the technical path selected.
Coursework develops students' abilities to create, store, communicate, exchange, and use information to solve technical issues related to network systems, programming and software development, information security, cloud technologies, and other emerging technologies based on the selected area of study.
Graduates qualify for employment in entry-level positions with businesses, educational systems, and governmental agencies that rely on computer systems to design and manage information. The program also prepares students for industry-recognized certifications, enhancing their employability and technical expertise. Additionally, students may choose to enter the workforce directly or transfer to a four-year institution to continue their education in information technology or related fields.
