Developmental Education
Developmental education provides students with the opportunity to strengthen skills in reading, English, and math. Placement in developmental education is based on placement policies and procedures which are outlined in the placement section of this catalog.
Developmental education courses are offered to promote student success and to meet specific course prerequisites. Developmental education courses do not offer college credit but are available to those who plan to enter diploma or degree programs. Financial aid cannot be used for more than 30 hours of developmental coursework.
Instruction provided through developmental courses offers opportunity to gain needed skills prior to enrolling in gateway English and math courses. Additional guidance for prerequisite courses is defined in the Course Prerequisite and Corequisite section of the catalog.
